‘La Déesse’

An absolute work of art and a rare DS. Viewed by many as the most beautiful autmobile ever created.

This is an January 1967 Citroen DS19 Pallas. A Citroen DS from the beloved 2nd series in a good condition is a rare thing. This car is one of the most sought after models: A true DS19 Pallas. This vehicle was first registered on the 2nd of January 1967. The car has been with the last french owner up til 2011 in the Dijon area after which the car was bought by a German Citroen collector. 

Why is it so special then? Late ’66 to 67 Models received the new LHM (Liquide Hydraulique Minéral) hydraulic fluid: A more reliable hydraulic system.  So it has the upgraded hydraulics but combined with the classic looks and interior of the 2nd series (the 3rd series came in 1968). This combination as a Pallas – The luxury spec – makes for a very rare and collectable Citroen DS. 

This Citroen DS19 was built in November of 1966 (Modelyear 1967) at the Citroen factory ‘Quai de Javel’ in Paris,France. The color combination of this example is lovely; AC108 Gris Palladium over Rouge cloth. It has the beautiful DS-specific dashboard correct to the 2nd series. Combined with all the Pallas details a great place to be. Beautiful Pallas doorpanels, Stainless steel trim and higher quality carpets for example.

In the recent past the car was restored completely – from A to Z by DS specialists in Bavaria. This solid and original DS was stripped completely. All bodypanels have been checked and repaired after which a stunning new coat of Gris Palladium was applied. Nice and correct doors and fenders with proper shutlines. It was reassembled with lots of new and NOS parts. New mouldings, new taillights, re-chromed headlight rings, beautiful bumpers, new blinkers and countless new gaskets. The steel wheels have been painted in the correct color, the Pallas hubcaps have been polished and new tires were mounted. 

The complete interior was reupholstered: Seats, rearseats and doorpanels have been recovered in the correct Rouge cloth. The Pallas-specific headrests and armrests weren’t forgotten. The carpets were replaced and the headliner is new. 

Not only the looks have been restored. Technically it has been done completely. The 2,1L DX2 115 HP engine has been rebuilt with new pistons and sleeves.  All parts on and around were rebuilt and/or replaced as well. Clutch, Startermotor, Waterpump, fuelpump, High pressure pump, engine mounts, fuelpump, exhaust, 123 ignition, radiator, hoses, carburator and more. Power goes to the front wheels via a 5-speed gearbox. A big upgrade in driveability and usability. The 2,1 Liter + the 5-Speed gearbox is the best combination to use and drive. Brake hoses, suspension spheres and rubber boots are all new. 

Absolute stunning Citroen DS – A model and type that is highly sought after. This example has been restored, tested and checked. Everything on the car works and has been gone through. A perfect example that is ready to drive.
