BMW’s first Touring

This BMW 2000 Touring was built by BMW in Bavaria and then delivered to BMW of Sweden – Förenade Bil Stockholm AB. The car was first registered on the 19th of May 1972. A BMW 2000 Touring in the Automatic version delivered on classic Verona red over a Black vinyl interior. The comes with the original Swedish instruction manual and service book – Rare. Also the BMW Sweden accesoirs catalogue is present as well as two sets of keys.

We have recently bought this Touring from a local inheritance. Why? We’re always interested in high quality 02’s and they are rare. High quality 02 Tourings are even scarcer. The car is a very solid and beautiful 2000 Touring in a beautiful condition. The original, matching numbers engine runs excellent. A nice and straight body with beautiful paint. The undercarriage is very healthy and showing solid floors and sills. The Verona red paint has been redone a couple of years ago which was done to a high standard. Smooth Red paint without blemishes. It shows nice and clear headlights in beautiful aluminium grilles and kidneys. Nice chrome bumpers with rubber strips give the car presence and the chrome around the car is in good condition. 

The interior is beautiful too. The seats have been been restored partially: the inner parts are redone with basketweave vinyl – as per original. They sit excellent and still look original. It features nice original doorpanels in black as well as a nice crack-free dash and a neat headliner. Clean carpets and the original 3-spoke steering wheel.

The engine bay is looking beautiful. The original engine – matching numbers – is running excellent. It runs very smooth. Starting up nicely, eagerly revving, not leaking and smoking. Behind that is the factory automatic gearbox which shifts very precisely and easy. The suspension is tight and the steering is precise, really a joy to drive. As mentioned below we have really put in a lot of work on the technical side of this Touring. It drives excellent and needs no further work.

We’ve completely gone through the car in our workshop.Fluids, filters, gone through the carb, the ignition and making sure it drives and brakes excellent. What we’ve done in short:
