This Citroen ID19F Break is a once in a lifetime opportinity with an amazing story. The car is not restored and has only driven 18.137 kilometers (11k Miles) from new. The car was built at the Citroen plant Quai de Javel in Paris, France and delivered to the French Army, location Saint-Chamas. Saint-Chamas is located in the Cote d’Azur between Marseille and Avignon. The army took use of the car on the 21st of April 1967, the vehicle was categorized as a VLTT: Véhicule Léger Tout Terrain – French for Light Vehicle All Terrain. The Citroen was driven by the Powders & Explosives division, or in French: Poudres et Explosifs.
Every ride has been documented
Amazing history on this ultra low-mileage Citroen Break
The Citroen DS as a whole is an amazing piece of French automotive history. This very car also wears an amazing bit of personal and army history. The great thing of having served as an army vehicle: i t was meticulously maintained and parked inside. Army vehicles all came with a ‘Carnet de Bord’, Logbook, meaning that every ride was documented. The destination, actual mileage, driven mileage, fuel and signature is documented. From 0 in 1967 to 13.146 kilometers in 1991. For example: On the 19th of November 1967 order 453 was executed: at 13:30 it was driven to Marseille. At 16:30 they returned to the base with 5518 kilometers on the odometer. A distance of 118 kilometers was driven and 10 liters of fuel was spent. This log is present for every single ride up to 1991.
In 1996 the car was sold by the Army division and came in private hands: Just 60 kilometers away from it’s first home: the Army base. A Citroen collector – Mr. Maunier bought the car and kept the car until we recently bought it. In 1996 a french Control Technique Technical Control was done with 13.248 kilometers. The car was occasionally driven and stored dry in the beautiful Provence area in Southern France. We have recently bought the car in a beautiful, surviving condition – Unrestored, not welded and not restored.
Recently the car came to Oldenzaal, Netherlands and our resident Citroen DS-specialist got to work. The car is and was in a great original condition: both mechanically and cosmetically. Engine, brakes and hydraulics all were in good working condition. We have done a major service with new Oil, filter, sparkplugs, valve adjustment, battery, fuelfilter, cooling system flush. The hydraulic system was checked: Pump, regulator and all spheres are in good condition. Lots of seals, and hoses have been replaced for a good, leak-free system.
The body of the car has all original bodypanels. No parts changed, no accident-history and never welded. The right side of the car has been professionally repainted by us with an exact color-match and sub 200 microns of paint. The rest of the car wears original 1967 Citroen-paint. All sub-120 microns. The chassis itself (grey on a Break) ware original paint as well. A true unrestored gem in exceptionally well condition. The undercarriage and wheel wells in original colour, original condition. No layers of tar: extremely honest unrestored survivor condition.
The paint and panels in the trunk are original and never painted since new. The vinyl seats are fully original as well as the carpets. The beautiful dashboard of the 2nd series ID shows excellent: original paint, no cracks and original switchgear. The car sits on correct Michelin tires and drives excellent.
Extremely well kept Citroen ID19 F Break in a highly desirable configuration: the early-nose, round headlights in 144 Blanc Carrare. 2 owners and a beautifully documented history.
