Lovely Convertible Cruiser

The BMW E30 Convertible was a classic at an early stage. It’s been popular for years and good examples are sought after. It offers a great driving experience, timeless 80s styling and a very robust technique. It’s properly built, easy to work and parts are affordable. 

This very car was sold new via the famous French BMW dealer ‘Garage du Bac S.A.’ in Chennevières-sur-Marne near Paris. Delivered new to a family from the Paris area, first registered on the 3rd of July 1989. Ordered in 181 Diamantschwarz over 0295 Natur Beige leather interior and EH Automatic Transmission.

The original wrapper with owner’s manual and service book is present. The car was serviced at the selling BMW dealer Garage du Bac, whose name changed to BMW Horizon later on, up to 2005 at 77.919 kilometers. After that the car moved to the Côte d’Azur in the beautiful city of Perpignan.

The body and paint is beautiful. Very straight, no signs of previous welding. Original panels, original jackpoints. Great paint, trim in excellent condition and great chrome. The car was kept as an E30 should be. Original looks, not lowered, no extra spoilers and wearing the correct BMW-BBS 15 Cross-Spoke wheels. These have been refurbished a couple of years ago and were fitted with new tyres.

The interior is very original in in a great condition. Original, supple leather everywhere. The top of the rear seat still original with the upper seam in good condition. Furthermore a perfect dash without cracks, original center console and steering wheel with a good texture. The convertible top was replaced in 2020. 

The engine-bay shows very clean and original. It shows the original decals and tags. Also the trunk is nice and clean. The original spare wheel, complete toolkit and a clean boot floor.
The undercarriage looks excellent and shows the original beige coating on the original floors. Rust-free, original floors and perfect jack-points. At the previous owner a lot of servicing has been done around 2020: Belts, Coolant, Ignition Cap, Rotor, Guibo, all Filters, Automatic transmission fluid + filter, timing belt and waterpump.
The car runs and drives truly excellent as one may expect with this mileage. The M20 runs excellent, original exhaust sounds great and it shifts very smooth.
