BMW’s fuel-injected Grand Tourer:

This BMW three liter Coupe is a factory 3.0 CSi. It was produced by BMW in Bavaria on the 16th of January 1974 and was delivered to BMW dealer Bäte in Hannover, Germany on the 24th of January and was ordered in 042 Baikal blue metallic. The has been registered in the Netherlands in 1978 and we have bought this car after the last owner had it for 20 years.

We bought the car in a great, solid and driving condition and then brought it to our standard. It’s a matching numbers genuine 3.0 CSi in the beloved Baikal color. A great upgrade is the 5-speed conversion. Much less revs on the highway which makes for calmer cruising.

Then we’ve done our magic to bring the car to our standard. That required going through the car completely. From paintwork to exhaust system. The car shows great paint all around, some of it redone. The body is solid, straight and with good panelgaps. The chrome bumpers are original and still have a great shine, the rubber trims have been replaced. 

The leather seats have been redone in the past and still look very good. The car has original front and rear doorpanels, the headliner is nice and original too. We have replaced the carpetset with new and the Nardi steering wheel is new too. The dash and the wood are the original from 1974 and still look very good. Very cool is the 80’s style roadmap-light.

The engine-bay received a major servicing and detailing. We’ve done a service with oil and filters, cap, rotor, sparkplugs and sparkplug leads. We’ve replaced brakefluid and coolant. We’ve installed a stainless steel exhaust, replaced the rear shocks, replaced fuel hoses and replaced front axle bushings, We’ve gone through the brakes and mounted a set of 16″ Staggered Alpina reproduction wheels with new Hankook tyres. 

The car drives beautiful. Very fast, agile and easy to drive. The E9 is already a good to car to drive but a good CSi with 200 horsepowers, a 5-speed and 16 inch wheels makes it much better.

  A 49 years old yet beautiful 3.0 CSi. It runs, drives and looks excellent and needs no further work. Ready for any collection or drive.
