Great white shark

A beautiful BMW E9 Coupe. Beautiful lines and fantastic driving characteristics. This Coupe has it all for the ultimate Grand Tour. A lovely running inline six powering an automatic transmision. Furthermore an electric sunroof and A/C blowing cold. The car was built in Bavaria on the 17th of July 1972 and delivered to BMW of Italy on the 14th of September 1972. Built in this color – 085 Chamonix white.

The car’s body is beautiful. It wears a as new coat of 085 Chamonix paint. Chamonix white always looks great on a vintage BMW nicely complementing the chrome and green-tinted windows. The paintwork and the body is beautiful: no scratches, no dings and has a great shine. A nice and solid body with proper shutlines and the correct knick in the sides. The doors, fenders and trunk nicely fit and line-up. The engine-bay is solid and correct. On and around the body it shows nice chrome accents. The chrome-trim around the car presents nice as well as the trim around the windows. Nice and clear headlights in deep-black grilles. The tailights are in very good condition and the chrome bumpers with black rubber strips make the car stand out.

The undercarriage looks fantastic and is very original. The floors show their factory primer with brownish coating, this is original and as it left the factory. The wheel wells are in black, as per factory. It shows no signs of welding and beautiful original metal. Orignial floors and sills. The A-Pillars are in good orignal condition and the inner fenders in the engine-bay show honest original sheetmetal. Such a condition is very rare on E9’s and only to be found in warm climates – as in Italy. We are proud to have found another such specimen.

The engine-bay of the CS looks very fresh and correct. It houses the matching numbers 3.0 Liter Inline six. The engine runs beautiful through its dual carburators which have been gone through and tuned correctly. The engine received a major-service from us, it starts up nice and makes good power. A further summary of the work performed below. The power is sent to the rear wheels through the automatic transmission, which had a fluid change. The car is a joy to drive on fresh suspension and new wheels & tyres.

The interior is looking excellent – beautiful marine blue leather, black vinyl and wood. The seats and rear seat have been reupholstered beautifully. The doorpanels were redone in the same leather. It has brand new carpets in blue with a nice loop-style. The dashboard and it’s wood are in beautiful orignal condition.

The sunroof has new gaskets and works perfectly. A brand new Nardi steering wheel has been installed as the icing on the cake.

The trunk of the Coupe just as beautiful and nicely restored. New grey vinyl over the original panels: on the floor, covering the taillights and on the inside of the trunklid. It houses the tools-tray with tools and ofcourse it’s complete with jack, tool and the spare wheel has a new tire.
