Silver 3.0 Coupe

This BMW 3.0 CS is a late model E9. It was produced by BMW in Bavaria on the 12th of March 1974 and was delivered on the 26th of March 1974 to the Hoffmann Motor Corporation in New York. The car was delivered in 060 Polaris Silver. Furthermore: Automatic transmission, tinted windows and A/C. The car has spent time in the USA and was imported into Finland in 2010.

The car’s body is beautiful! Really a nice and straight E9 Body that is solid and correct. The Polaris silver paint has been redone a couple of years ago and still looks fresh – without any dings, scratches or imperfections. A nice and solid body with proper shutlines and the correct knick in the sides. The doors, fenders and trunk nicely fit and line-up. The engine-bay is ofcourse an important part of the E9 body. Here it shows all metal, nicely (spot)welded in place. ‘What you see is what you get’.
 On and around the body it shows nice chrome accents. The chrome-trim around the car presents nice as well as the trim around the windows. Nice and clear headlights in deep-black grilles. The tailights are in very good condition and the chrome bumpers with black rubber strips make the car stand out.

The engine-bay of the CS looks very fresh and correct. It houses the matching numbers Inline six. The engine runs beautiful through its dual carburators which have been gone through and tuned correctly. The engine received a major-service from us, it starts up nice and makes good power. A further summary of the work performed below. The power is sent to the rear wheels through the automatic transmission, which had a fluid change. The car is a joy to drive on fresh suspension and new wheels & tyres.

The interior is looking excellent and features a classic yet sexy color combination – Silver & Chrome over Red leather & wood – What’s not to love? The seats have been reupholstered and the doorpanels have been restored. It has brand new carpets in anthracite ‘salt & pepper’. The headliner is clean and crisp and the wood is in excellent condition. Another lovely option is the factory A/C. It features the original center console with A/C and Blaupunkt radio.

The Coupe’s trunk looks just as beautiful. The panels reupholstered in grey vinyl: on the floor, covering the taillights and on the inside of the trunklid. The tools tray is present and the trunk shows healthy original metalwork. A nice spare wheel with fresh tire is present.

The undercarriage of this car has been treated with a Dinitrol Anti-Rust Treatment. A famous product in a brown-metallic color that really keeps out the elements and moist. Floors, sills, A-pillar and the rest are in great shape and are solid. A very healthy E9.
