CSL
This car is an absolute joy to drive! The car feels so light, the body is very tight and the suspension is excellent. A true sportscar that corners amazing and makes speed easy! BMW has only built 1265 CSL’s, this car is one of just 429 built fuel-injected Left-hand-drive cars. Rare!

This very car wears VIN 2275021 making this an original 3.0 CSL. Delivered new in Fjord blue and sold via BMW of Italy in January of 1973. The car has been in Florence, Italy throughout it’s life and we’ve recently bought it right there. First owned by Mr. Lorenzo from Florence wo paid the princely sum of 6.25 million lires for the vehicle and drove on numberplate FI(Florence)661368. From 1976 onwards it was owned by Mr. Fautechi for 5 months and then by Miss Dindelli who had the car since November 1976. The last owner! We’ve bought the car from the Dindelli estate. Amazing, in last ownership since 1976!

Via our network this 3.0 CSL was offered to us and our driver has picked the car up from the beautiful city of Florence. The car had obviously been sitting for quite a while and presents in beautiful original condition.

We’ve gone through the car completely and now it runs, drives and functions beautiful. The matching numbers engine was thoroughly serviced and runs excellent and makes great power. The 7×14” Alpina wheels have been restored and fitted with new Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres. The brakes have been restored, new rotors in the front, four rebuilt calipers, new pads, hoses and fluid. Furthermore all new filters, fluids, exhaust suspension, diff mount, engine mounts and transmission mount, cap, rotor, sparkplugs, valve adjustment, belt, tie rods and much more.

The interior is a true time capsule! The original thin felt carpets, original doorpanels, original dashboard and beautiful original wood. This car was really looked after and was parked inside since the interior is still excellent. The correct original CSL seats with their original vinyl and cloth. The typical black CSL headliner in beautiful condition.

The quality of the paint is great. The body is very straight and the shutlines/panelgaps are proper. The belt-line chrome trim is shining brightly. Clear headlights, polished taillights make for an impressive E9. The chrome grilles on the bonnet and fenders are brand new.

The trunk shows it’s original grey panels. Note that for the CSL the bonent and trunklid are made of aluminium and supported by a stick, rather than a mechanism on regular E9’s.

The underside of the car is very clean and original. Really something special – Original floors, sills, front, (inner)fenders etcetera.

The car drives beautiful. You instantly feel this E9 is much lighter and this one is really tight. It has the original Petri steering wheel, no power steering and is very communicative. The engine is very lively and this is a fast E9! Excellent handling thanks to a light, tight body, proper suspension and a new set of tyres.
